Republican Senators worry that previous President Trump may ruin their prospects of winning the Georgia second round of voting next month.
This is if he begins his 2024 campaign for president in the next few weeks and repeats his baseless claims of rampant election fraud.
Republican contenders lost important races throughout the nation, and Republican voting fell short of its potential in Tuesday’s election, which Trump’s GOP elite detractors blame on him.
Why Is It Always All About Trump?
Republican analysts believe that if the Dec. 6 Georgia runoff involving Sen. Raphael Warnock (D) and GOP contender Herschel Walker becomes a referendum on Trump, they may lose the Senate.
One GOP staffer, who asked to remain anonymous, said, Hopefully, Trump will remain out of the contest as much as he conceivably can.
He added that if that means putting off declaring his campaign for the White House, that’d be a wise decision not just for Republicans’ prospects in Georgia but Trump’s wishes to win the presidential nomination.
According to the insider, Georgia election experts feel Trump was a significant drag on Walker in suburban Atlanta. Trump will suffer if he enters the race and Walker loses.
Republican Senators fear a repeat of last year’s Georgia Senate runoffs, which cost Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler their positions and gave Democrats the majority in the Senate.
Go ahead, Donald, and announce your presidential run next week. Please don't listen to these Republicans (RINOs) who want you to delay it. You should announce it in Georgia to help your buddy Herschel Walker win the runoff.

Before the January 2021 Georgia runoffs, then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) urged White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, to temper Trump’s accusations of rampant voter fraud.
Georgia is Crucial to the Country’s Future
Trump rallied in Georgia the day before the election, despite requests. He said, “there’s no way we ended up losing Georgia” to Joe Biden during an hour-and-20-minute rally and called the election “rigged.”
Perdue lost 215,000 votes in the runoff compared to the general election two months earlier, while his opponent, Democrat Jon Ossoff, lost 104,000 votes.
If Trump tries to make the Georgia runoff about his presidential aspirations, a Senate Republican official cautioned, he could destroy Republican chances of regaining the Senate majority.
A Senate Republican aide added that he thinks it is still possible for the party to take Nevada while everything boils down to Georgia.
According to him, If Trump doesn’t discourage voting, the party can win Georgia. “But if he comes out in five days and announces his presidential race, that’s not ideal for us,” the aide continued. “He can only make things about him.”

On Thursday, retiring Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) suggested Trump endangered Republican hopes of capturing the Pennsylvania Senate campaign by interfering in the Mehmet Oz-John Fetterman race.
On CNN, Toomey said Donald Trump had to involve himself, which transformed the campaign and posed too many obstacles.
Trump rallied for Oz and candidate for governor Doug Mastriano in Latrobe, Pa., days before Election Day.
“It’s not only Pennsylvania.” Toomey continued, “You look throughout the nation; there’s a very high link among MAGA candidates and large losses, or at least drastically underperforming.”
Is Trump Ruining the Runoff?
In an appearance with Newsmax, Trump’s top aide Jason Miller advised him to delay his presidential campaign declaration until the Georgia runoff.
“President Trump had stated he’d decide on Nov. 15, next Tuesday.” He suggested the president wait until after the Georgia election.
“Herschel is priority A, B, and C right now,” he said. “This is the nation’s biggest. We must emphasize Georgia.”
Trump stated Monday that he would make “a tremendous announcement” on Nov. 15 at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla.
Senate Republicans expect a presidential campaign kickoff address.
Republicans will hold at least 49 Seats in the senate next year. Still, they must win two of the three undecided elections in Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada to maintain a majority in 2023.
